Wavy Abstract Background

Acoustic Communication

Communication is crucial for all species, and my research in acoustic communication just touches on one of the many modalities. I have worked on comparisons between species and individual repeatability of communicative signals.

Communication in

Mixed-Species Flocks

My doctoral work explored the possibility of a behavioral syndrome in the communication systems of Carolina chickadees and tufted titmice.

Cross-Species

Comparisons

My PhD advisor and I compared chick-a-dee calls from tufted titmice and black-crested titmice and the similarities and differences between the calls of these two species. This was the first time the calls of black-crested titmice had been examined.
