Teaching

I enjoy teaching and making connections with students. In my classes, I often try to employ a variety of learning techniques, including hands-on learning, supplemental activities and videos, and multiple modes of assessment. Student feedback is very important to me, so I ask students to provide optional feedback throughout the semester to ensure student needs are being met by me and the course materials.

PSYC 295
Intro to Research Methods
2021

I TA'd for this class during the spring 2021 semester. I had two sections with 50 per section. I aided the instructor with grading and proctoring tests. This class is the lecture counterpart to PSYC 294 that I taught during academic year 2021-2022.

PSYC 310
Thinking and Learning
2020-2021

I TA'd for this class for the entire academic year 2020-2021. There were two sections with around 100 students each. I was the primary grader, though I occasionally had help from the instructor and a few undergraduate teaching fellows. In the spring 2021 semester I guest lectured on animal training.

Outreach and Volunteering

I enjoy mentoring undergraduate students and bringing animal conservation and animal behavior research to the general public with a particular emphasis on underserved communities

Square Stage

Mentorship

I have mentored nine undergraduate students and high school students in research methods. I have also informally mentored PhD students in earlier stages of their career.
